The "RIO QUE HABLA" project is an artistic proposal elaborated through the sound recording of traditional and emerging cultures of the towns, communities and districts adjacent to the Rímac River. The project will be developed through a route divided into 3 sections per month, whose starting and ending points will be, respectively, the Ticticocha Lagoon, at 4,780 masl, and the mouth of the Rímac River, in the Pacific Ocean; touring the Provinces of Lima and Huarochirí. During each trip, information obtained through interviews and conversations with the inhabitants of each area, archive data and atmospheric recording will be collected. On January 20, the first section will start, which covers from the mentioned starting point to the San Jerónimo de Surco district, visiting the populated centers of Casapalca, Chicla, San Mateo and Matucana.
This project aims to reassess and raise awareness about one of the most important natural ecosystems in the province of Lima, focusing on it from a geographically human perspective, which is born, grows and lives on the limits of the Rímac River.
El proyecto “RIO QUE HABLA” es una OBRA SONORA elaborado mediante el registro sonoro de las culturas tradicionales y emergentes de los pueblos, comunidades y distritos adyacentes al Río Rímac. El proyecto es desarrollado a través de una ruta dividida en 3 tramos por mes, cuyos puntos de inicio y final serán, respectivamente, la Laguna Ticticocha, a 4780 msnm, y la desembocadura del Río Rímac, en el Océano Pacífico; recorriendo las Provincias de Lima y Huarochirí. Durante cada viaje, se recogerá información obtenida mediante entrevistas y conversaciones con los pobladores de cada zona, datos de archivo y grabación atmosférica. El día 20 de enero del 2019 se dió inicio al primer tramo, que abarca desde el punto de inicio mencionado hasta el distrito de San Jerónimo de Surco, visitando los centros pobla- dos de Casapalca, Chicla, San Mateo y Matucana.
Este proyecto tiene el objetivo de revalorar y crear conciencia sobre uno de los ecosistemas naturales más importantes de la provincia de Lima, enfocándolo desde una mirada geográficamente humana, que nace, crece y habita en las riberas del Río Rímac.
